Acutrim is a nonprescription appetite suppressant medication to be used with a weight loss and exercise program.
Do not take more than 1 tablet each 24 hours. Taking more than the recommended dose will not speed weight loss and could cause serious health problems.
Take Acutrim exactly as recommended on the package labeling: 1 tablet at mid-morning with a full glass of water. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, divide, chew, or dissolve. Do not take Acutrim for longer than 3 months; this should be enough time to establish the new eating habits necessary to maintain weight loss.

--If you miss a dose...
If you miss a dose and remember it late in the day, skip the dose and go back to your regular schedule the next day. Do not take double doses.

Protect from extreme heat and moisture.
If you experience nervousness, dizziness, sleeplessness, throbbing heartbeat, or headaches, stop using Acutrim and contact your doctor.
If you are being treated for high blood pressure, depression, or an eating disorder, or if you have heart disease, diabetes, or a thyroid disorder, do not take Acutrim unless you will be monitored by your doctor.
Acutrim is for adult use only. Do not give Acutrim to children under 12 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking Acutrim if you are under 18.
If Acutrim is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining Acutrim with the following:Any cough/cold or allergy preparation containing phenylpropanolamine or any type of nasal decongestant.Antidepressants classified as monoamine oxidase inhibitors, such as Nardil, Marplan, and Parnate.
As with any medication, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health care professional before using Acutrim.
