Brovana is used for long-term treatment of lung problems that come with having chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Brovana may increase the risk of an asthma-related death. This drug is intended for long-term usage, not rescue therapy or for brief lung spasms (asthma attacks).
Brovana should be taken by nebulizer twice a day: once in the morning and once in the evening.
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Arformoterol tartrate.
Do not take Brovana if you are allergic to arformoterol or any of its other ingredients.
While taking Brovana, it is especially important to avoid treatment with tricyclic antidepressants and beta-blockers.
Tell your doctor about all prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal medications you are taking to prevent a possible interaction with Brovana. Also, talk to your doctor about your complete medical history.
If Brovana is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Brovana with the following:

The effects of Brovana during pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown. Talk with your doctor before taking Arformoterol tartrate if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
ADULTS
The usual dosage of Brovana is 15 micrograms (mcg) twice a day, given through a nebulizer.
Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
